I think I am best described as being a music poor person, as I was growing up I spent all my money on climbing gear. Somehow nearly falling off and killing myself because I didn't have that piece of gear became a very good motivation for going out and buying that piece of gear.
In reecent years as my collection of climbing gear has finally filled out to suit my purposes I find I can now spend money on music, Yay!.
I think music is great, I mean you can listen to it and stuff. I don't own a cd player but have permanantly borrowed one from the boy in teh office upstairs.
Last week I went to Tennassee to go climbing. I shaved off all my hair (well, just the hair on my head), to get that well ard climber look. I brought my entire music cd collection with me and listened to it in the hire car. (This consists of three very fine albums, Kid A, Tigermilk and The boy with the arab strap).
Now sitting back at my desk I am listening to music again (god I could do this listen to music thing all day, it's great), and I notice that the headphone fit differently.
No doubt this is a trivial realisation, and one that is obvious with a little thought, but just think, here I am a 27 year old, and due to my obsesion as a climber it has taken until now in my life to notice this.
